Coalatree Trailhead Pants | An Honest Review

If you’re looking for the perfect adventure pants, everyday pants, or cozy up in an ultralight chair with a Kindle pant, you’re in the right place!

The Coalatree Trailhead Pants are hands down one of the best hiking and backpacking pants I have ever worn. Trust me, I have tried many different brands and have had more failures than successes.

I was originally drawn to Coalatree by the eco-friendly products and stellar features, and fit. These pants are unisex, come in a slim or regular fit, have deep pockets, stretch in all the right places, are water-resistant, and are microbial.

Coalatree Review: Why They Are Worth It

As a woman with an athletic build, strong legs, and 5′ 7″, it’s been tough to find pants that I do not have to constantly pull up or pants that fit my thighs and calves. If you’re an athletic girlie like me, these are for you!

Plus, the pants are unisex, so they fit great on all body types.

I’ve always struggled with sizing, especially with outdoor clothing. Many women’s outdoor clothing brands that I have tried are usually way too loose in the waist and tight in the legs. When I initially slipped the Trailhead Pants on, I am pretty sure I did a karate kick. No joke. I was immediately impressed with the 360 ° 4-way stretch. Not only are they comfortable, but they are also flattering.

I’ve worn these pants for multiple days while living out of a van in Iceland, a 4-day backpacking trip around the base of Mount Hood, working from home, hanging out in coffee shops, and pretty much anything in between. They don’t shrink or smell. That’s a huge win for us outdoorsy folk!

Danner makes great boots that are perfect to wear year-round. These are on the what to wear in Switzerland list due to being great for cities and mountains.

Comfortable Travel Pants With Awesome Features

These pants are beyond comfortable for any trip, whether you travel by plane, car, or train. I get grossed out by all of the smells of airports and other transportation methods, but these don’t soak up those smells or make you feel gross. Thank goodness.

The Trailhead Pants are easy to pack by folding them up into the front pocket. Another bonus about these pants is that they don’t wrinkle, so you can pull them out of your bag and hit the town or start a trek. They are perfect for any packing list.

Bottom line, you should probably buy these now if you want the ultimate hiking and everyday pants.

    More Coalatree Products I Love

What I have found over the years is that when I love one product from an outdoor eco-friendly company, I usually end up loving all of the products! Here are two more items that I recommend, whether you’re on the trail, walking around town with your pup, heading to work, or grabbing that coffee.

    Coalatree Baseline Midlayer

This zip-up mid-layer is also unisex and super breathable. With my build, I have broader shoulders than most women, so the shoulder-to-chest ratio is typically fairly tight. This isn’t the case with this jacket.

I was pleased with this purchase because it’s functional and warm. The Baseline mid-layer has honeycomb fleece, which is really similar to what I had in the Army, but we called them “waffle tops”. It is a perfect jacket on a chill day or a baselayer on a cold, snowy day.

    Coalatree Trailhead Shorts

If you took the Trailhead Pants and cut them into shorts, well, that’s what these are! Minus the uneven cutting and all of that, but anyway, they are the short version.

Again, I was a little skeptical of the shorts because I typically have the same problem with pants. The waist is too big, the leg holes are too restrictive, the waistband is uncomfortable, or too much material.

I love to wear these shorts while I walk my dog or go on a day hike. The pockets fit my phone, keys, and treats for my pup, and there is still room for more. This is basically unheard of.

    Conclusion: My Honest Coaltree Review

As I learned more about the company and products, I gave them a try, and haven’t looked back since! If you think the price is a bit steep, I can tell you they are worth every penny.

I learned from the moment I tried them on that they were comfortable, and the pockets on all products could hold my iPhone and an energy bar. Each product is functional, breathable, comfortable, stain-proof, warm, and flattering.
